What are we?

• The Women’s Institute (WI) is a national organisation which plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

 

Who are we?

• Kirkland WI was formed in October 1921. We have just under 40 members and enjoy lively monthly meetings where we socialise and make new friends.

 

Where do we meet?

• We meet at Kirkland & Catterall Memorial Hall, The Avenue, Churchtown, nr Garstang, PR3 0HR.  The Memorial Hall is on the junction of the A6 and A586 to Blackpool.

When do we meet?

• We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7.30 pm - except in August when there is no meeting.

​

What do we do?

• At our meetings we listen to speakers on a wide range of topics and discuss matters of interest at community, county and national level. We also enjoy trips to the theatre and other interesting venues. We have annual ten-pin bowling and quiz nights and a monthly walking group.
